White Sands Sunset Adventure Session Engagement Photography

Any time I get a chance to photograph a couple at White Sands National Monument, I know it’s going to be an amazing session! Mengyu + Lei Lei traveled from Seattle, Washington to visit New Mexico and thought it would be a great destination to have their engagement photos taken. I couldn’t agree more! After exploring Santa Fe and Taos, the couple headed south to one of New Mexico’s most iconic parks. It was so awesome to see Lei Lei + Mengyu experience the spectacular white gypsum sand dunes for the first time.

Adventure sessions (aka engagement sessions with an extra dose of fun and exploring) are great because the couple can take the time to enjoy and experience the awesome location and relax with each other without stiff and boring posing. And these two definitely had fun! I loved Lei Lei’s playful nature and how connected they were to each other. We ran around in the sand and explored what was over each hill. The dunes of White Sands glittered in the afternoon sun, which soon sank into one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect sunset engagement session at White Sands! New Mexico is famous for its incredible sunsets, and I’m so glad Mengyu + Lei Lei were able to experience one on their trip.

If you’re looking for places to elope, get engaged, or do your engagement photos, White Sands is a fantastic location! The National Park Service makes eloping here easy (especially if you don’t have guests), and it’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s honestly a dream location!
