The 5 Best Outdoor Wedding Venues in New Mexico

The 5 Best Outdoor Wedding Venues in New Mexico

As a new year begins and couples are getting engaged every day (yay!), I thought I’d share some of my favorite outdoor wedding venues in New Mexico. There’s a vast range of venue options (check out this full list of New Mexico venues), but these five are the best of the best when it comes to outdoor wedding venues! And if you’re looking for something small and more rustic, take a look at these ideas for New Mexico adventure elopements!

El Monte Sagrado Weddings

El Monte Sagrado is a resort unlike any other I’ve visited. It has lush, green grounds with willow trees and streams, and the interior details are just as beautiful. It’s seriously one of the most romantic spots to get married in Taos, and even all of New Mexico! The venue is beautiful year round, whether in the green summer or even snowy winter and has indoor and outdoor options. Oh, and the hotel rooms are fantastic and incredibly relaxing. You won’t want to leave, trust me!

La Mesita Ranch Weddings

UPDATE: La Mesita Ranch is now closed.

Just north of Santa Fe, La Mesita Ranch is an incredibly beautiful expanse of over 400 acres. With that much space, the photo possibilities are endless and the indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options are many (I especially love the ceremony spot under lakeside Cottonwood trees). Your guests can stay in the ranch’s casitas and enjoy a full weekend of festivities. The ranch even has its own stables, pool, and tennis courts!

Hyde Memorial State Park Weddings

I may be a little biased on this one, but I think Hyde State Park is definitely one of Santa Fe’s best outdoor wedding venues. I chose it for my own wedding because of its rustic woodsy vibes. Up a winding mountain road you’ll find the lodge at Hyde amidst the Pine and Aspen trees. Pick the perfect ceremony spot – up on the hill overlooking the park, on the back patio, or even the lodge’s front porch. The rustic stone and beam lodge interior is a great place for guests to enjoy eats and treats. The woods around the lodge bring a natural beauty to the whole affair. There’s even a small stream and old log bridge a short walk down the hill. It’s a woodsy wedding dream!

Los Poblanos Historic Inn + Farm Elopements

Los Poblanos Historic Inn + Farm is widely known as one of Albuquerque’s best outdoor wedding venues. The historic 1930s architectural charm of the inn paired with beautiful gardens and lavender fields creates a romantic and truly unique venue. Los Poblanos has a number of outdoor ceremony spots, a veranda for receptions, and a small ballroom. You and your guests can even stay in the Inn’s beautiful rooms on the grounds. Not to mention that there are photo opportunities everywhere with gardens, courtyards, a tree-lined road, and a rustic farm. Seriously gorgeous!

Update for 2021: Los Poblanos is now only taking on intimate weddings and elopements.

Washington Ranch Weddings

An oasis in the desert, Washington Ranch is one of New Mexico’s best kept outdoor wedding venue secrets. The ranch is located just outside of Carlsbad and boasts beautiful trees, a small lake, and even a creek. Couples have the option of celebrating outdoors on the ranch’s beautiful grounds or inside the ranch’s main house and greenhouse. Guests can also opt to lodge in one of the property’s stone cabins.
