When Judith and Vanessa started working with me, they had no idea where they wanted to elope. They wanted to feel the vastness of nature and were draw to water and mountains, but the possibilities were endless! I came up with some solid options that fit their vision and would allow their beloved dog to join them, and we they ended up choosing Colorado’s San Juan Mountains.
Fall is an absolutely magical time of year to get married in the San Juans, and Vanessa + Judith’s elopement hit the peak of autumn color. And, as an unexpected treat, they also experienced some beautiful snow throughout their day!
They started their morning by getting ready together, then visiting the local courthouse to pick up their marriage license. Their first stop in the mountains was a high alpine lake where they kayaked together in the peacefulness of the falling snow. What a unique experience! Then they set off for a picnic with amazing views and then continued up the 4×4 roads to their ceremony spot. A few minutes into their vows, fluffy snowflakes began to fall around them. The snow flurry totally changed the views around them and transformed the scenery. They finished off their day by enjoying sunset from the mountain tops and driving home under the stars.
