I’ve dreamed my whole life of visiting Maine, and more recently of photographing a couple on the rocky coast that Maine is so famous for. I found an amazing team of vendors who helped me bring this dream to life. Sarah of Watershed Floral delivered the most amazing bouquet of summer blooms wrapped with beautiful watercolor-esque silk ribbons that fluttered in the sea breeze. Tia’s flawless makeup and long, romantic curls were created by Christine of Big Day Beauty. To finish her boho look, Tia wore a gilded floral hairpiece from Hair Comes the Bride and a handmade brass necklace, bracelet, and rings from local metalsmith Kristianne of Saltgrass Jewelry.
I immediately fell in love with Dyer Point as I was scouting locations the day before the shoot. The interesting grey rocks along the coast were home to tidal pools and pretty yellow wildflowers. And with the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse in the background, what could be more quintessential Maine? After exploring the point, we moved down the beach to Kettle Cove just as the sunlight began to create a golden glow.
Kettle Cove is a unique beach in that it faces west with a great view of the sunset. And what an amazing sunset we had! The sky changed to spectacular colors and reflected on the wet sand of low tide. This was truly one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen!
